Spring Luncheon with Linda Lee

Come celebrate spring with us at our Annual Spring Luncheon featuring guest speaker, Linda Lee of The Sewing Workshop!

Linda Lee is the owner of The Sewing Workshop Pattern Collection, a group of patterns for distinctive garments using innovative sewing techniques. Linda writes for Threads, Sew News and Stitch magazines and is the instructor for seven online classes for Craftsy.com. She travels the country teaching fine sewing techniques and the art of combining beautiful fabrics and distinctive design in garment and home decorating creations.

Linda Lee will present her Trunk Show – Great Style at Any Age. Age is nothing but a number when it comes to looking fabulous. You will enjoy a presentation of beautiful fabrics in stunning colors that will challenge you to rethink how you dress and what you want to sew.

After Linda’s morning presentation, we will enjoy a buffet luncheon and door prizes, followed by an afternoon session on fabrics and techniques.

Bead artist Sharon Ryan will teach a spiral bead stitch incorporating bugle beads and will explain how variations are achievable by using various materials. For a bracelet, participants will need size 6 and size 11 seed beads in one color way and size 3mm bugle beads in a contrasting/complementary color. Also required are a size 12 beading needle, six pound Fireline, and a clasp to finish, e.g toggle, lobster, or magnetic. (Friends may want to share a package of Fireline.)

Sunset at Zephyr Cove

The Sewing at Lake Tahoe Retreat will take place from 4 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 to 11 AM on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Presbyterian Conference Center at Zephyr Point. Please note that this year the retreat will take place Monday-Friday so that the participants may enjoy Father’s Day with their husbands and/or fathers.
Each participant will have sole use of a 6' table for her sewing pleasure. The fee includes four (4) nights lodging, three (3) meals a day and a fully equipped sewing room with views of beautiful Lake Tahoe. Cutting tables, irons and ironing boards will be supplied as will coffee, tea and water in the sewing room.

In order to meet our contract obligations with the conference center, the cost of the event is two-tiered. For those registering on or before March 11, 2017, the cost for double occupancy is $365 ($405 non ASG members). For those who register after March 12, 2017, the cost for double occupancy is $415 ($455 non ASG members). An upgrade charge of $210 will be assessed for those who prefer single occupancy. Additionally, the conference center now charges an additional $12 per person for vegetarian or vegan requests. Those wishing to upgrade to single occupancy or opt for the vegetarian or vegan meals will indicate their choices on the second page of the Eventzilla registration process.

Note: No refunds will be issued after March 11, 2017 unless there is someone on the waiting list available to fill the spot. Registration deadline is June 1, 2017 or when the event fills – whichever comes first. Registration is limited to 24 people and is available online. We expect the retreat to fill up quickly; so if you are interested, don’t delay. If you have any specific questions or you wish to be placed on the waiting list, please email Debbie Jean Hopkins
